This notice describes exactly what this website collects, why, and what happens to it afterwards. It covers electricaldocs.com only. Our other websites publish their own notices.

Apart from a member account (described below), the only way this site collects personal information is the contact form. When you submit it, we record:

The IP address is recorded for abuse prevention and rate limiting.
If you arrive through a link that carries campaign tags in the address (the
utm_source-style parameters used by advertising and referral links), and if
your browser tells us which site you came from, we keep the campaign tags from the address you arrived on, and the address of the site that referred you
in your browser's session storage and attach them to your enquiry if you submit the
form, or to your account if you create one. We do this so we can tell which pages and channels actually help people —
not to identify you.
You can create a free member account to use the NEC practice bank. Nothing below applies unless you do.
When you sign in, this site sets one cookie, edocs_session,
holding a random session token. It is HttpOnly, sent only over HTTPS, and never shared with
other sites. It lasts at most 30 days (14 days if you stop using the site) and is removed
when you sign out or sign out everywhere from the account page.
If you arrive at the sign-up page from a link that carries campaign tags, those tags are saved on your account record so we can tell which pages help people find the practice bank. They identify a channel, not you.
Member accounts are kept until you delete them. An account that never completed its first sign-in is deleted 30 days after it was created; an account with no sign-in for 24 months is deleted. Sign-in codes are purged 24 hours after they expire; expired or signed-out sessions are purged 7 days later; our record of each code email we sent (which holds a keyed reference, never your address) is kept 90 days.
You can delete your account from the account page (we email a confirmation code to your current address) or by writing to us. If you changed your email address in the previous 7 days, deletion waits until that change's revert window has closed, so a wrongful change cannot be hidden by a quick deletion.
Our systems are backed up nightly to encrypted, access-controlled storage. Deleted account data can persist inside those backups for up to about six months before the backup that holds it expires; a deletion is re-applied automatically if a backup is ever restored. Our audit records of deletions carry a pseudonymous account reference, never your address.
Sign-in codes and account notices are sent from admin@electricaldocs.com through our email provider; a delivery record (a keyed reference, the outcome and the time) is kept 90 days so we can investigate a code that never arrived.
Our web server keeps ordinary access logs, as effectively every web server does. Those logs are used to keep the site running and secure, not to identify you.
We use what you send us to respond to your enquiry and, if it becomes a project, to carry out the work. That is the whole purpose.
Your submission triggers an internal notification. A summary is forwarded by SMS text message to Elevated Systems LLC staff so enquiries are seen promptly. That message travels through a third-party telecommunications provider, in the same way any text message does.
If you create a member account, we use your email address only to send sign-in codes and account notices, and your practice results only to show them back to you.
Beyond that, we share your information only:
We do not share your information with any other company for its own marketing.
We keep enquiry records for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, and then delete them.
We keep a record longer only where the law requires it or where it is attached to completed contracted work we must be able to evidence. If that applies to you and you have asked us to delete, we will tell you which record we kept and why.

We will confirm receipt and tell you what we did. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under your local law; we will honour those on request.
The form is submitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and records are held on access-controlled systems. Member sign-in uses a one-time emailed code — there is no password for anyone to steal or reuse — and codes are stored only as keyed hashes. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. Please do not send sensitive personal information — government identifiers, financial account details, health information — through this form. We do not need it.
This site is intended for electrical and building professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
If this notice changes, the revised version replaces this one at this same address and the date below changes. We keep a dated record of revisions rather than silently editing the page.
