These terms govern your use of electricaldocs.com, operated by Elevated Systems LLC. By using this site you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the site.
Electrical and code-related information published here is educational interpretation. It is never governing code, and it is never a substitute for the adopted code, your Authority Having Jurisdiction, or a licensed professional's judgment on your specific installation.
Where we discuss the National Electrical Code, we state the edition we are referring to and the jurisdiction we have in mind — currently NEC 2023, as adopted in Washington State under WAC 296-46B. Other states, other editions, and local amendments differ, sometimes materially.
The NEC is a copyrighted standard published by the National Fire Protection Association. We point to code sections; we do not reproduce code text. For the authoritative wording, consult the code itself.
The governing authority for your project is always your AHJ and the adopted code in your jurisdiction — not this website. If the two ever appear to disagree, the code and your AHJ are right and we are wrong. Tell us, and we will correct the page.
Any calculator output, worked example, or estimate shown on this site is provided for information and planning. It is not a stamped or certified design. Results depend entirely on the inputs given, and real installations involve conditions a web page cannot see. Every result must be verified by a qualified person against the adopted code and the actual installation before it is relied on for construction, permitting, or purchasing.
Using this site, reading its content, or submitting the contact form does not create a contractor–client, engineering, or legal relationship. A working relationship with Elevated Systems LLC begins only under a written agreement signed by both parties.
Electrical work is hazardous and is regulated for good reason. Nothing here should be read as encouragement to perform work you are not qualified, trained, and — where required — licensed and permitted to perform. When in doubt, hire a licensed electrical contractor.

We take accuracy seriously and describe how we handle it in our editorial standards. Even so: codes are amended, regulations take effect, and pages age. We review published pages on a schedule and correct them when the underlying source changes. A page is accurate as of its stated review date and not automatically after it.
Found an error? Tell us at admin@elevatedsystems.net. We would rather be corrected than be wrong in public.
